Why wait to have a problem?
“An Ounce of Prevention Is Worth A Pound of Cure.” -Ben Franklin
According to HomeAdvisor, individuals can expect to pay between $300 and $5,000 for bed bug extermination, with the average cost between $1,000 and $2,500.
Our Story
We are a family owned business who operate a Bed Bug Extermination company in NYS. We were always concerned about bringing Bed Bugs home with us from our daily exterminations, and unfortunately it would happen. A lot. We found ourselves treating our home several times a year because of this. Just as Benjamin Franklin said “an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure”, we knew there had to be a better way to deal with the situation.
We started experimenting with different ready made products, and although some of them did help, nothing was truly effective against repelling Bed Bugs. One day I was explaining the importance of vacuuming daily, it hit me. Bed Bugs were the answer I was looking for! Let me explain.
Bed Bugs emit a distress pheromone to warn others of danger, so you need to remove all the dead Bed Bugs from infested areas to prevent repelling them from coming out to die. (This is important because Bed Bugs can live a year with out feed, so they can easily wait out insecticide to wear off). I started putting dead Bed Bugs in the essential oil blend we created and it was like magic, I stopped having Bed Bugs hitch rides home with me.
As time went on, customers would ask for some of this spray to use themselves on book bags, coats and other items that provide Bed Bugs a method of transfer. Between some customers being grossed out that they had Bed Bugs in the spray bottle, and events of the Bed Bug bodies clogging the sprayer intake, we saw a problem that led us to boiling down batches of Bed Bugs and using that water as our base after straining out Bed Bugs.
(I started this process in our kitchen, and when my wife walked in on me straining them with pasta strainer, it nearly cost me my life.)

Bed bugs disappeared for 40 years, now they're back with a vengeance.
Bed bugs, for decades, existed as myths, part of a rhyme our parents told us before bed. Now they've made an unwelcome return and those who know the buggers best say it's high time we start taking them seriously.
After all, getting a bed bug infestation "is a bit of a crap shoot," conceded University of Kentucky entomologist Michael Potter, meaning all of us are at risk.

Due to the large numbers of eggs a female can produce, a bed bug population can double every 16 days.
The most recent studies indicate that a well-fed adult bed bug held at room temperature (>70° F), will live between 99 and 300 days in the laboratory. Unfortunately, we do not know exactly how long a bed bug might live in someone’s home or apartment. No doubt it will be at least several months.
